It is Election day in the United States. As I stay up in wait for my favorite analyst on TV, Jake Tapper on ‘The Lead with Jake Tapper’, all I see is the enthusiasm by the American voters. It is overwhelming.
I am sitting here wondering if we would have this too.
With the polls closing in less than 2 hours, so far, there have been reports of long queues, minor technical challenges with the voting machines, and poor weather. The voters couldn’t be deterred by all these. So far, there has been an additional 13million voters to the number of people who came to the polls 2 years ago.
All of a sudden, the Presidency has a rapid response line. Had this not been an election season?
Just like what happened in 2015, some of the voters would probably vote for this administration’s major opposition, the PDP, in a bid not to have the incumbent return to office.
While some may vote for the return of the present leadership either for tribal or personal reasons.
Whatever the reasons are, I want to believe they are valid.
Will Nigerians come out against all odds to vote?
