- Find tools that would help you separate signal from noise
Subscribe to daily newsletter (e.g: JS WEEKLY, REACT WEEKLY), this way, you avoid going through a lot of information that you do not need.
- Learn when to stop reading
If your brain says “I think I get it” or “I don’t think I need this right now”, move on.
- Find experts you can trust
Eg; thoughtworks tech rader, Eric Normand (Closure Gazette), Nicholas Zakas, Addy Osmani.
- Find a mentor
Find people who have experience to give you good advice.
Figure out the best way and categorize them.
- Learn the fundamentals
Understand the core programming concept behind an idea.
- Focus on value
What problem am I trying to solve?
Will this tool solve my problem?
What other tools solve the same problem?
- It’s okay to say, “I don’t know.”
There must be someone who knows a little bit more than you, don’t stress out about it. It is better to say “I don’t know” than be a part of the problem.
- Learn empathy
Developers have a tendency to be less empathetic towards people/situations around.
- Recognize needs
Identify the needs of the people and be able to communicate solutions.
