ISREAL-BASED CARBYN – NEXT GENERATION 911?

Carbyn has developed an emergency call-handling platform, supported by an ecosystem that integrates live video streaming, location services and texting capabilities.

After Amir Elichai, founder and CEO, was robbed on Tel Aviv beach in 2013, he called the police and had to go through a tedious, long-winded conversation with the dispatcher (“Where are you, what happened, etc.”) before help was finally sent. Out of frustration, he started Carbyne. “If Uber and the pizza delivery guy can determine where we are, why can’t 911?”

“The truth is that the modern 911 system was developed in the 1960s and hasn’t seen much of an upgrade since then.” Elichai says, “As new technologies emerge, 911 and emergency services try their best to catch up. What we have is essentially a patchwork of old technology supplemented by some newer technology. What this means is that while first responders can do some things well, like find your location if you’re on a landline, they are far more limited in more modern communications, such as finding you from your cell phone. It’s why the first question an emergency dispatcher will ask you is not “what is your emergency?” but ‘what is the LOCATION of your emergency?”. There has been case, after case, after case of cell phones connecting to towers far away and routing the call to the wrong county. “

Carbyn believes;

Live stream shouldn’t be only for Facebook; they propose that with their easy to implement API, it’s simple for any police agency, transport service, or private business to integrate their existing technology with Carbyne’s advanced systems.

It uses all the available technology on your device (including wi-fi, LTE), to locate users, no matter where they are.

That 10,000 lives are lost yearly due to dropped 911 calls, improper location services etc, they believe their solution would solve these problems and save countless lives.

Endless possibilities; they integrate with businesses, university campuses, and civil services as well to ensure that no matter where you are, no matter what trouble you’re in, you only ever need to press one button to find the help you need.

It’s the solution to 911 woes
